The Dances of Universal Peace

Sam Dances

Murshid Samuel Lewis envisioned and created the Dances in the 1960's as a dynamic method to promote "Peace through the Arts." His original body of about 50 dances has grown since his passing in 1971 to a collection of more than 600, which celebrate the sacred heart of all the worlds spiritual paths: Hindu, Buddhist, Zoroastrian, Sikh, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, the Aramaic, Native American, Native Middle Eastern, Celtic, Native African, and Goddess. His work continues through the teachers of the Sufi Ruhaniat International, the order which Murshid Sam founded, and through Dances of Universal Peace International.

Mentorgarten 2014NYEEvery second-Sunday of the month we hold the Dances at the Mentorgarten. The dance meeting is lead by Windsong, Michael Jabbar, and other dance leaders. The depth of attunement, the sweetness of friendships, the joy of the dances, and the supportive container within which we hold each other through life's celebrations and challenges, make this Sunday gathering a very special event.

All are welcome!
