A Hymn of Zoroaster

I’ll hail Thee as I wake upon my bed,
All hail Thee, bountiful Ahura!
I’ll hail Thee as I greet the rising sun,
All hail Thee, bountiful Ahura!
I’ll hail Thee as I break my morning bread,
All hail Thee, bountiful Ahura!
I’ll hail Thee when I cease from work at noon,
All hail Thee, bountiful Ahura!
Whenever I rest, wherever I walk,
Whatever my task, whenever I talk,
Good words, good thoughts, good deeds my spal,
O Lord of Light, guard Thou air soul,
All hail Thee, bountiful Ahura!

I’ll hail Thee when I see the evening star,
All hail Thee, bountiful Ahura:
I’ll hail Thee as I eat my evening meal,
All hail Thee, bountiful Ahura!
I put my trust in Thee Who art not far,
All hail Thee, bountiful Ahura!
With every breath Thy Presence will I feel,
All hail Thee, bountiful Ahura!
Guide Thou my step, though hard the way,
The darkest night turns into day,
Life’s burdens, burdens cease to be,
When Thou, dear Lord, watchest over me;
All hail Thee, bountiful Ahura!
