River Of Guidance

In this wide-ranging interview, Pir Shabda Kahn, Spiritual Director of the Sufi Ruhaniat International, chronicles with depth and heart his immersion into a multifacted life, reflections on his teachers, and the essence of the spiritual journey, including musical excerpts as performer, zikr leader and teacher.

Shabda Kahn was introduced to Sufism in 1969 as a direct disciple of Murshid Samuel Lewis (Sufi Ahmed Murad Chisti). His teachers include Indian Classical Vocalist, Pandit Pran Nath, the American mystic Joe Miller and the Tibetan Buddhist master the 12th Tai Situpa Rinpoche. In addition to worldwide travel as a teacher of Sufism, Shabda is a leader of the Dances of Universal Peace, and a performer of Indian classical music.
